Defending Mitt, Trump calls Cher ‘a loser’

Donald Trump has called out Cher for attacking his pal, Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney.

“Cher said some very unflattering and nasty things about Governor Romney, and I think it was inappropriate, what she said, frankly,” Trump told Fox’s Greta Van Susteren on Monday, referring to an angry tweet the singer fired off last week.

Trump not only went after Cher – calling her “an average talent who is out of touch with reality” on Twitter – but he also criticized TV personality Rosie O’Donnell while he was at it.

“But then you threw in Rosie,” Van Susteren said, sounding confused. “I mean, you resurrected Rosie into the fight by calling her a total loser. She wasn’t even in this fight with you.”

“Well, I likened [Cher] to Rosie, as a loser,” Trump, who has feuded with O’Donnell before, explained. “But I – you know, I understand Cher and Cher is somewhat of a loser. She’s lonely. She’s unhappy. She’s very miserable. And her sound-enhanced and computer-enhanced music doesn’t do it for me, believe me.” (Politico/McDevitt)

Jay-Z Backs President Obama’s Support Of Gay Marriage

beyoncepart2040509_01_200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (x17online) – President Barack Obama already received one star supporter in Will Smith for his stance on gay marriage, but another A-list celebrity is hopping aboard the bandwagon.

During an interview with CNN on Monday, Jay-Zspoke on how he felt about the controversial topic.

“I’ve always thought it as something that was still, um, holding the country back,” the hip-hop star said. “What people do in their own homes is their business and you can choose to love whoever you love. That’s their business. [It] is no different than discriminating against blacks. It’s discrimination plain and simple.”

Jay-Z joins a host of other celebrities who have voiced their support for the president, including Lady Gaga, Kim Kardashian and Ellen DeGeneres.

“Whether it costs him votes or not…It’s not about votes,” he said. “It’s about people. So whether it costs him votes or not, I think it’s the right thing for him to do as a human being.” (X17)   PoliticsofHollywood/ Varona

Actor Chris Colfer of “Glee” is singing President Obama’s praises for his decision to support same-sex marriage.

“I was ecstatic at the president’s announcement, just was so excited,” Colfer, who plays a gay student on the show, told HLN. “I think right now people, like, they kind of have a choice to be on the wrong or the right side of history. And I’m glad he’s on the right [side].”

Colfer also said that the “Glee” cast is “really, really spoiled because we’re on a show that really does so much for people who don’t have anyone else to look up to or compare their lives to.”  (Politico/McDevitt)

Will Smith’s son asked Obama about aliens

Disregarding his dad’s instructions, Jaden Smith — the 13-year-old son of actor Will Smith — asked President Obama about aliens during a visit to the White House.

Telling the story on BBC Radio, the “Men in Black” star explained, “The night before, Jaden had said to me, ‘Dad, I gotta ask the president about the aliens,’ and I was like, ‘Dude, no, no, it’s not cool. No, it’s not cool, it’s embarrassing. … Do not ask the president!’”

“So we get into the Situation Room and Jaden gets the look in his eyes and he leans over and he says, ‘Dad, what’s my punishment?’” Smith said. “… And Barack is starting to talk about this Situation Room and Jaden says, ‘Excuse me, Mr. President?’”

To Smith’s surprise, Obama anticipated the question.

“Barack said, ‘Don’t tell me,’” he recalled. “And in perfect form — like this is why he is the president — he stopped and looked at Jaden and said, ‘The aliens, right? … OK, I can neither confirm nor deny the existence of extraterrestrials but I can tell you if there had been a top secret meeting and if there would have had to have been a discussion about it, it would have taken place in this room.’”  (Politico/McDevitt)
