Plot Summary: Shia LaBeouf stars with Michael Douglas, who’ll reprise his Gordon Gekko role. Langella will play Lewis Zabel, an old-time broker who mentors LaBeouf’s character, a young Wall Street broker.

When Gekko comes out of prison, he essentially has to redefine himself, redefine his character, he’s looking for that second chance.

LaBeouf portrays Jake Moore, who is the fiancé of Gekko’s daughter, played by Carey Mulligan; Josh Brolin as the head of an investment bank; and Susan Sarandon as Jake’s mother. Charlie Sheen, who played the central role of Bud Fox, a young trader, in the original, will make a cameo in the sequel.

Baldwin To Host PETA Awards..

Alec Baldwin is set to host People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals’ 30th anniversary awards gala later this month (Sept. 10)

The 30 Rock star has long championed the organization, joining forces with the group in 2008 to promote their film Blinders, which documented the harmful effects of horse-drawn carriages. And the actor is looking forward to taking on presenting duties for PETA’s upcoming 30th Anniversary Gala and Humanitarian Awards in Los Angeles.

He says, “Peta has become a cultural force through creative campaigns that have made society re-examine its relationship with animals. Nobody looks at fur, meat, circuses, or animal testing the way they did 30 years ago. Peta has brought us a long way, and we have a lot to celebrate.”

The ceremony will take place on 25 September /2010.

Lady Gaga Poses As Lady Liberty On Magazine Cover..

As evidenced by her recent well-publicized attendance at a Mets game and her glorious Madison Square Garden show, Lady Gaga has always repped for her hometown of New York City. So it’s no surprise that Gaga is paying tribute to the Big Apple by posing as the Statue of Liberty alongside fashion guru Marc Jacobs on the fall cover of V Magazine.

Posing with Jacobs, a shopping cart and an old TV set, Gaga stands with her mouth slightly open in a black lace bra and panties with a gray dress sliding off her body. With her toned abs and her hair shaped into a crown, the pop star is holding a burning torch, mimicking the New York landmark. And while Gaga does her best impression of the neoclassical sculpture, Jacobs remains serious and firm, sitting on top of the television in a traditional black-and-white suit. In another photo, the singer is seen crouched in the carriage as she’s pushed around by the fashion designer with her torch held high. Just last year, the singer appeared on the fall issue of the magazine donning Jacobs-designed pieces.

In the issue, which is on sale now, V Magazine highlights some of New York’s most profound figures, people they say “are making the city their own way.”

Editor Stephen Gan revealed that he chose the pop star because her representative values parallel those of the magazine. “Just as the Statue of Liberty was France’s gift to America, Gaga is, to us.

Tony Blair: ‘Bono Has World Leader Potential’..

Former British prime minister Tony Blair is convinced Irish rocker Bono could be running the world if he hadn’t shunned politics for a career in rock music.

The U2 frontman has spent years wading into political debates and has used his star status to secure meetings with a variety of influential public figures, including Blair, former U.S. president George W. Bush, and most recently enjoying afternoon tea with Russian leader Dmitry Medvedev.

However, Blair is adamant the singer could have been a successful politician himself if he hadn’t been drawn to music.

In his new autobiography, A Journey, Blair writes, “(Bono) could have been a president or prime minister standing on his head. He had an absolutely natural gift for politicking, was great with people, very smart and an inspirational speaker… motivated by an abundant desire to keep on improving, never really content or relaxed.”

“I knew he would work with George (W. Bush) well, and with none of the prissy disdain of most of his ilk.”

Stern: Obama ‘can’t win’ ..

We’re used to the standard political prognosticators here in Washington, but here’s a new one: Howard Stern.

The shock jock weighed in on President Barack Obama’s fortunes — or misfortunes — on his Wednesday radio program, saying that he thinks a second term for Obama is unlikely, according to a rough summary provided by MarksFriggin.com, which summarizes every Stern show on Sirius-XM Radio.

Stern “said that there are too many people accusing [Obama] of doing things that he’s not even doing,” according to the site. “He said [Obama] can’t win with anyone. Howard said the guy came into office with two wars going on and major economic issues. [Stern] said you can’t just end a war immediately.”

The site went on: “Howard said he thinks that Obama is doing hat [sic] he can but it’s not that easy. He said he is winding down the troops in Iraq but that’s going to be tough. Howard said he thinks that both sides are always going to be disappointed with Obama no matter what he does.”

Tiger Woods — The $100 Million Photo ..

Ever wonder what a man looks like right after he loses $100 mil??? Well, look no further …

TMZ has obtained this photo of Tiger Woods … taken moments after the hearing in which his divorce from Elin Nordegren was finalized at Bay County Circuit Court in Panama City, Florida last month.

Tiger — who didn’t say one word to Elin that day — smiled and posed for a photo with the bailiff from the hearing right after they left the courtroom.

One source tells us Tiger was “nice” — even after signing away roughly $100 million to Elin.

It’s the first time — in a reeeeeally long time — that Tiger has been seen out without the Nike swoosh.

Andre the Giant — Sad Connection in WWE Star’s Death..

Funeral services for WWE star “Luna” Vachon will take place at Andre the Giant’s North Carolina ranch — where his ashes were spread 17 years ago — and TMZ has learned, Luna’s ashes will be scattered at the same place.

The reason — we’re told Andre was Luna’s godfather … and the two were extremely close.

No word on when the scattering is taking place — but according to sources, Luna’s funeral Mass occurred yesterday … and a private service is in the works today for friends and family.

As TMZ first reported, Luna was found dead over a week ago in her Florida home … where investigators discovered crushed oxycodone pills and a snorting straw.
